RA Factor & Anti-CCP Test at Home in Srinagar
The key blood tests for diagnosing rheumatoid arthritis before joint damage occurs.
What does the RA Factor measure?
The RA Factor (Rheumatoid Factor) test detects an antibody present in approximately 80% of people with rheumatoid arthritis. Anti-CCP (cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody) is a more specific test ordered alongside RA factor to improve diagnostic accuracy.
Why does it matter?
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic autoimmune disease causing progressive joint damage if untreated. Early diagnosis and treatment with disease-modifying drugs (DMARDs) dramatically reduces joint destruction. Anti-CCP in particular can be positive years before clinical symptoms, enabling preventive intervention.
Who should get this test?
- People with symmetrical joint pain and swelling, especially small joints of hands and feet
- Those with morning stiffness lasting more than an hour
- Anyone with family history of rheumatoid arthritis
- People with joint symptoms and elevated CRP or ESR
