Liver Function Test (LFT) Test at Home in Srinagar
A complete picture of liver health — enzymes, bilirubin, albumin, and more.
What does the LFT measure?
A Liver Function Test (LFT) is a blood panel measuring enzymes and proteins produced by the liver: ALT, AST, ALP, GGT, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, total protein, and albumin. Each marker reflects a different aspect of liver health.
Why does it matter?
The liver metabolises drugs, filters toxins, produces clotting factors, and regulates blood sugar. Abnormal LFT results can signal fatty liver disease (NAFLD), hepatitis, alcohol damage, medication toxicity, or bile duct obstruction — often before symptoms appear. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is increasingly common in Kashmir due to dietary changes.
Who should get this test?
- People taking regular medications (statins, paracetamol, TB drugs, antiepileptics)
- Anyone with alcohol use or a high-fat diet
- People with diabetes, obesity, or metabolic syndrome
- Those with symptoms of jaundice, abdominal pain, or dark urine
